Giridih is a city located in the state of Jharkhand, India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Giridih district. Historically, the area was part of the Hazaribagh district until 1972.
The city is recognized for its industrial and health sectors, as well as its scenic landscape. Notably, it houses the Giridih Coalfield, which is among the oldest coalfields to be worked in India. Additionally, Giridih functions as one of the six Data Processing Centres for the Data Processing Division of the National Sample Survey Office.
