Mahasamund is a city located in the Mahasamund District of Chhattisgarh, India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the district and is situated along the Mumbai-Kolkata and Raipur-Visakhapatnam National Highways.
The city is one of the largest and most significant urban centers in the state of Chhattisgarh. It is categorized as the biggest city in the Trans-Mahanadi area and is currently divided into 30 wards and five zones. The municipality is part of a proposed new Mahasamund Municipal Corporation.
