Bijapur is a city located in the Karnataka state of India. It serves as the district headquarters for the Bijapur district and is also the headquarters for the Bijapur Taluk. The city is situated approximately 519 km northwest of Bengaluru, 550 km from Mumbai, and 210 km northeast of Belgaum.
The city is primarily recognized for its historical monuments of architectural significance, which were constructed during the rule of the Adil Shahi dynasty. Additionally, Bijapur is known as the home of the Bijapur Bulls, a team in the Karnataka Premier League.
