Baloda Bazar is a nagar palika parishad located in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. It serves as the headquarters of the Baloda Bazar district, which was officially declared a district on August 15, 2011. The town is situated at an altitude of 270 meters above sea level and shares boundaries with the districts of Bemetara, Mungeli, Bilaspur, Janjgir, Sarangarh – Bilaigarh, Mahasamund, and Raipur.
The region is a significant hub for cement production, hosting numerous plants including Ambuja Cements, Rawan Cement Works, Nuvoco Cement Sonadih, Nu Vista Cement Risda, Shree Cement Khapradih, UltraTech Cement Hirmi, UltraTech Cement Rawan, and Ultratech Cement Kukurdih. According to local legend, the town's name originated from "Balboda Bazar" because traders from various states would gather at a local livestock market (Bhainsa Pasara) to trade bulls and buffaloes (Boda).
