Thana Bhawan is a town located in the Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It was originally known as Prabuddhnagar when the district first came into focus. The town's name is said to have emerged from the name of the Devi Bhawan Temple.
The town is situated on the Delhi–Shamli national highway (NH 709B), approximately 120 kilometres from Delhi, 45 km from Saharanpur, 38 km from Muzaffarnagar, and 59.6 km from Panipat in Haryana. During the 18th century, the area was primarily home to Hindu and Muslim families.
