Malihabad is a town and nagar panchayat located in the Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It serves as the seat of a tehsil and a community development block of the same name. As of the 2011 census, the town had a population of 17,818 residing in 3,032 households.
The area is primarily recognized for its significant mango production. Malihabad is the largest of Uttar Pradesh's 14 designated mango belts and accounted for 12.5% of the state's total mango production in 2013. The region produces hundreds of varieties, including Chausa, Langda, Safeda, and the Dasheri, which is known as the "king of mangoes."
The Malihabad mango mandi was established by Ahmad Umar Khan (Munne Miya Kha) in 1980. The local mango industry has been further popularized through the contributions of Haji Kaleem Ullah Khan, a mango grower and recipient of the Padma Shri.
