Machhlishahr is a town located in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated approximately 30 km west of the district headquarters, Jaunpur. The town serves as a Nagar panchayat and has been subject to ongoing demands for its designation to be upgraded to a Nagar palika parishad.
The area is connected by NH-231, while the construction of the Machhlishahr – Janghai NH-731B – Bhadohi four-lane national highway is currently underway to support regional economic growth. In 2020, the Machhalisahar nagar panchayat was recognized for its cleanliness, securing the 33rd all-India rank in the Swachh Survekshan.
