Kakori is a town and nagar panchayat located in the Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated approximately 19 km north of the city center of Lucknow.
Historically, the town served as an important center for Urdu poetry, literature, and the Qadiriya Qalandari Sufi order. It is also notable for its role in Indian history as the site of the Kakori Train robbery on August 9, 1925, during which Indian revolutionaries robbed a train carrying government funds.
