Greater Noida is a planned city located in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Established as an extension of the area under the UP Industrial Area Development Act of 1976, it serves as a major urban development intended to decongest New Delhi by providing a quality urban environment for population and economic activity.
The city is situated approximately 40.2 km southeast of central New Delhi, with travel time between the two locations taking roughly 30 minutes via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. It is administered by a single entity, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), which is responsible for the planning, development, regulation, and operations of the region.
