Historically, the region was governed by the Gurjar King Raja Umrao Singh Bhati prior to the Revolt of 1857, who reportedly ruled over approximately 108 villages. Following this period, authority in Dadri and its neighboring territories remained with the Rao family until the era leading up to India's independence.
