Bansi

Bansi is a city and municipal board located on the bank of the Rapti River in the Siddharthnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It serves as one of the most significant cities within the district and constitutes one of its five vidhan sabha constituencies.

The town is situated approximately 40 km from the Indo-Nepal border, providing access to Lumbini, Nepal, via an open border crossing. Bansi is known for hosting the Magh Mela, a fair held annually from January 25 to February 25 that attracts visitors from the surrounding regions.

The local political administration includes MLA Raja Jai Pratap Singh, whose palace is located in Narkatha, Bansi, and District Magistrate Shri Shivsarangappa G. N.
