Banat is a geographical and historical region situated in the Pannonian or Carpathian Basin, spanning across Central and Eastern Europe. The territory is divided among three different countries: western Romania, northeastern Serbia, and southeastern Hungary.

The region's geography straddles these national borders, with its eastern portion located in western Romania, its western section situated in Serbia, and a small northern area falling within Hungary.
