Agra is a city located on the banks of the Yamuna river in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated in Western Uttar Pradesh, approximately 230 kilometres south-east of Delhi and 330 kilometres west of Lucknow. The city is also recognized as part of the Braj region.
With a population of roughly 1.6 million residents, Agra ranks as the fourth-most populous city in Uttar Pradesh and the twenty-third most populous city in India.
