Shivpuri, formerly known as Sipri, is a town and municipality located in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, a state in central India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the district and is situated within the Gwalior Division of northwest Madhya Pradesh.
The town sits at an altitude of approximately 1,515 feet (462 meters) above sea level. Geographically, it is positioned roughly 125 km (78 mi) from Gwalior, 104 km (65 mi) from Jhansi, 103 km (64 mi) from Guna, and 337 km (211 mi) from Bhopal.
