Mhow, officially known as Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, is a town located in the Indore district of the Madhya Pradesh state in India. It is situated approximately 23 kilometres (14 miles) south-west of Indore city along the old Agra-Mumbai Road.
The town is notable as the birthplace of B.R. Ambedkar, a prominent social and political reformer who served as the chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee and was India's first law minister. In 2003, the Government of Madhya Pradesh renamed the town Dr. Ambedkar Nagar to honor his legacy.
