Itarsi

Itarsi is a city and municipality located in the Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh, India. The city serves as a significant hub for agricultural goods and features a large number of agro-based industries and warehouses. Its name is derived from "eeta" (brick) and "rassi" (rope), reflecting the historical production of bricks and ropes in the area.

The city is a major transportation center, home to Itarsi Junction, which is the largest railway junction in Madhya Pradesh. Rail services connecting all four major metropolitan cities of India—Mumbai to Kolkata and Delhi to Chennai—pass through this location. Additionally, the region hosts an Ordnance Factory and is situated near the Tawa Dam and the Bori Wildlife Sanctuary.
