Dewas

India

Dewas is a city located in the Malwa region of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It serves as the administrative capital of the Dewas district.

Historically, the municipality was the seat of two 15-Gun Salute state princely states during the British Raj: Dewas Junior state and Dewas Senior state. These territories were ruled by the Pawar clan of the Marathas.

The city is characterized as an industrialized hub and is notable for housing a government bank note press.
