Datia is a city located in north Madhya Pradesh, Central India. It serves as the headquarters of the Datia District within the Gwalior Chambal region. The city is situated approximately 78 km from Gwalior and 31 km from Jhansi, positioned near the border with Uttar Pradesh.
The town is noted for its historical significance as an ancient site mentioned in the Mahabharata, where it was ruled by King Dantavakra.
