Chhanera is a town and municipality located in the Khandwa district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It serves as a residential hub for those relocated from the surrounding region.
The town was specifically established to accommodate residents of Harsud who were displaced when their original settlement was submerged under the waters of the Indira Sagar dam in July 2004.
