Burhanpur is a historical city located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It serves as the administrative seat of the Burhanpur District and functions as a Municipal Corporation.
The city is situated on the north bank of the Tapti River. Geographically, it is positioned approximately 512 kilometres northeast of Mumbai and 340 kilometres southwest of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh.
