Sultanganj, also known as Ajgaibinath Dham, is a historic and spiritually significant town located in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar, India. It is situated on the southern bank of the Ganga River, approximately 25 km west of Bhagalpur City.
The town is a major site for religious pilgrimage, particularly during the annual Shravani Mela. During this festival, hundreds of thousands of devotees gather to collect holy water from the Ganga before embarking on a barefoot trek of over 100 km to the Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar, Jharkhand.
Sultanganj is characterized by its ancient temples and archaeological finds that link the area to early medieval Indian history. The town is also associated with various legends originating from the Mahabharata era.
