Raxaul is a sub-divisional town located in the East Champaran district of the Indian state of Bihar. It is situated directly on the India–Nepal border, sharing a boundary with the city of Birgunj in Nepal.
The town serves as a major railway junction for both domestic and cross-border transport. Due to high trade volumes, Raxaul has become one of the busiest towns for heavy transportation in the region. Notably, approximately 56% of the total products from Birgunj are exported to the Indian state of Bihar through this route.
