Jamui is a town and municipality located in the Indian state of Bihar. It serves as the district headquarters for Jamui district, which is situated within the Munger Division.
The district was officially formed on February 21, 1991, following its separation from the Munger district. Geographically, the town is positioned approximately 60 km southwest of Munger.
