Danapur Cantonment, also known as Danapur Cantt, is a cantonment town situated in the Patna District of Bihar, India. Located on the outskirts of Patna, it serves as a significant military installation and was historically established in 1765. The area originally functioned as Bankipore Cantonment before being relocated to its current site in the Danapur area between 1766 and 1767.
As a category II cantonment, it holds the distinction of being the second oldest cantonment in India, following Barrackpur Cantonment in West Bengal. The administrative board for the town consists of 14 members, seven of whom are elected. Additionally, Danapur serves as the regimental centre for the Bihar Regiment (BRC).
