Kahalgaon is a municipality town situated in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar, India. It is located within the Anga region and serves as a notable historical and industrial site.
The town is historically significant as it served as the capital-in-exile for the Jaunpur Sultanate between 1494 and 1505. Additionally, Kahalgaon is located near Vikramashila University, which was a globally recognized center of Buddhist learning during the Pala dynasty alongside Nalanda.
