Ballia

Ballia is a city located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It features a municipal board and is situated approximately 150 km equidistant from the cities of Gorakhpur and Varanasi, while being roughly 380 km from the state capital, Lucknow.

The eastern boundary of the city is defined by the junction of two major rivers: the Ganges and the Ghaghara. Geographically, Ballia lies about 120 km from Patna in the neighboring state of Bihar. The area is also home to a protected region known as the Jai Prakash Narayan bird sanctuary.
