Itanagar is the capital and largest town of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. It serves as the seat of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and the seat of the state government. Additionally, it houses the permanent bench of the Gauhati High Court at Naharlagun.
The city, along with the adjacent town of Naharlagun, forms the administrative region known as the Itanagar Capital Complex Region. This area extends from the Itanagar Municipal limit at Chandranagar Town to Nirjuli Town. It functions as a major hub for cultural, economic, fashion, educational, and recreational activities within the state.
