Jaigaon is a census town located in the Alipurduar subdivision within the Kalchini Block of the Alipurduar district in West Bengal, India. It is situated on the international border between India and Bhutan.
The town serves as an important transit point for regional travel, as it is separated from Bhutan by the Bhutan Gate. Because Bhutan lacks domestic roads linking all its towns, it utilizes roads passing through Jaigaon to reach various destinations, including Samtse, Gomtu, Nganglam, and Samdrup Jongkhar. Phuentsholing is identified as the nearest city in Bhutan to Jaigaon.
