Chandannagar, also known by its former names Chandernagor and Chandernagore, is a city located in the Hooghly district of the Indian state of West Bengal. It serves as the headquarters of the Chandannagore subdivision.
The city is situated within the area covered by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). It remains a recognized urban center within the regional infrastructure of West Bengal.
