Khowai is a town located in the Indian state of Tripura and serves as a Municipal Council within the Khowai district. The city is situated on the banks of the Khowai river, which provides the namesake for the settlement.
Originally settled by Upendranath Roy, the town is positioned near the Bangladesh border. Its entire northern boundary shares a frontier with Bangladesh.
