Valparai is a town and hill station situated in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, India. Located at an elevation of 3,474 feet (1,059 m) on the Anaimalai Hills range of the Western Ghats, the area is characterized by its high-altitude geography and significant forest cover.
The region contains large portions of land owned by private tea companies, with a total of 56 estates established in the area. While many sections are privately managed, substantial forest areas remain out of bounds to the public. The town is also home to parts of the Anamalai Tiger Reserve.
