Srivilliputhur is a town located in the Virudhunagar district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is recognized as a site of significant ancient heritage and devotional history.
The town's most prominent landmark is the Srivilliputhur Divya Desam temple, which houses an 11-tiered tower dedicated to Vatapatrasayee (Vishnu). Standing 192 feet high, this tower serves as the official symbol of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The structure is said to have been built in 788 CE by Periyalvar, who is believed to be the adopted father of the temple deity.
