Parangipettai

Parangipettai, historically known as Porto Novo, is a coastal panchayat town situated in the Cuddalore district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the north bank of the mouth of the Vellar River, positioned approximately 30 km from the city of Cuddalore.

The town is accessible from the state capital, Chennai, via the National Highway NH32 stretch that connects Cuddalore and Chidambaram. It serves as a coastal settlement within the regional geography of Tamil Nadu.
