Ooty is a town located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It serves as the seat of the Nilgiris district and is situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters (7,350 feet) within the Nilgiri Mountains.
The town is part of the Western Ghats mountain range and is frequently referred to by the epithet "Queen of hill stations."
