Marthandam is a major trade centre located in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated within the Kuzhithurai municipality, which is also known as Thoduvetty, and lies across State Highway.
The area became part of the state of Tamil Nadu on November 1, 1956, when it was added to the existing district boundaries.
