Manamadurai is a town located in the Sivaganga district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is situated approximately 58 kilometres from Madurai along the Cochin - Dhanushkodi National Highway. The town serves as the seat for the Manamadurai Legislative assembly constituency and ranks as the fourth largest town in its district, following Karaikudi, Sivaganga, and Devakottai.
The settlement developed around 2 BCE on the banks of the Vaigai River. The river flows through the core of the town, geographically dividing the area into the upper western banks and the lower eastern banks.
