Krishnagiri is a town located in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Krishnagiri District, which was established in 2004. The city is situated at the base of the Krishnadevaraya Hills and is characterized by its surrounding hill rocks.
The region is notable for its fertile land and access to fresh water, making it highly suitable for agriculture. Consequently, mangoes are cultivated as the primary crop, earning Krishnagiri the title of "Mango Capital of India." The area also features significant residential and business development, as well as the Krishnagiri Dam, which was constructed in 1967.
Geographically, the town is positioned approximately 250 km from Chennai, 45 km from Dharmapuri, and 90 km from Bengaluru.
