Karur is a city and municipal corporation located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Karur district and is governed by the Karur Municipal Corporation.
The city is situated approximately 395 km (245 mi) southwest of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Geographically, it is positioned on the banks of three rivers: the Amaravathi, Kaveri, and Noyyal.
