Kanyakumari is a town and municipality located in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, India. It serves as the southernmost tip of the contiguous Indian subcontinent and is recognized as the southernmost city on mainland India. Due to its geographic position, it is often informally referred to as "The Land's End."
The town is situated approximately 90 kilometres (56 mi) from Thiruvananthapuram and lies about 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of Nagercoil, which serves as the headquarters of the Kanyakumari district.
