Kallakurichi is a first-grade municipality located in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Kallakurichi district, which was established on January 8, 2019, as the 33rd district of the state following the bifurcation of the Villupuram district.
The district encompasses an area of 3,530.58 square kilometers and is organized into two revenue divisions and seven taluks. The town of Kallakurichi is situated along National Highway 79. The current Member of the Legislative Assembly for the region is M. Senthilkumar of the AIADMK.
