Gudiyatham

Gudiyattam, also known as Gudiyetram, is a town located in the Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated between the cities of Bangalore and Chennai, with the district headquarters of Vellore being approximately 33 km away from the town.

The name of the municipality is derived from the Tamil term 'Gudiye-tram,' which refers to a habituation of people. Historically, the primary occupation of the residents in Gudiyattam was handloom weaving. As of the 2011 census, the town had a population of 235,672.
