Gobichettipalayam is a town and municipality located in the Erode district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Gobichettipalayam taluk. The town is situated at an elevation of 213 meters (699 feet) above sea level, positioned near the center of the South Indian Peninsula and straddled by the Eastern Ghats.
The town is located approximately 35 km from Erode, 44 km from Tiruppur, and 80 km from Coimbatore. The local economy is primarily driven by two major sectors: agriculture and textile industries.
