Colachel is a town situated in the far south of India within the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu. It serves as a natural harbor on the Malabar Coast and is located approximately 20 km northwest of Kanyakumari, which marks the southernmost tip of the country.
According to 2011 census data, the municipality had a population of 23,227, while its total metropolitan population was recorded at 47,007.
