Arakkonam is a railway town located in the Ranipet district of Tamil Nadu, India. It serves as a significant suburb of the state capital, Chennai, and has been officially included within the Chennai Metropolitan Area since 2022.
The town is situated approximately 69 kilometres from Chennai and about 54 kilometres from the district headquarters in Ranipet. According to the 2011 census, Arakkonam had a population of 78,395.
