Ambattur

Ambattur is a neighborhood located in the northwestern part of Chennai, India. It is situated within the Ambattur taluk of the Chennai District and covers an area of 40.36 km2 (15.58 sq mi). The locality is bordered by several surrounding areas, including Avadi, Anna Nagar, Korattur, Padi, Mogappair, Kallikuppam, Surapet, Ayappakkam, Athipet, and Thiruverkadu.

Historically, Ambattur was a village characterized by extensive agricultural farmlands irrigated by the sprawling Ambattur Lake. In contemporary times, the area has transitioned into a bustling urban hub primarily engaged in industrial and commercial activities. The neighborhood is served by the Ambattur railway station.
