Alandur is an urban node and a zone of the Chennai corporation located in the Guindy division of the Chennai district in Tamil Nadu, India. It is bordered by Guindy to the north and east, Adambakkam to the south, Pazhavanthangal to the south-west, and Parangimalai to the north-west. The area also neighbors the St. Thomas Mount Cantonment and the Officers Training Academy of the Indian army.
As of 2011, Alandur had a population of 164,430, with projections estimating the town agglomeration's population to reach 300,000 by 2030. The locality is notable for its historical and cultural significance; it was the constituency where former Tamil Nadu chief minister M. G. Ramachandran won his first legislative election in 1967. Notable landmarks within the area include the Nehru Statue and Kathipara Junction.
