Phalodi is a city located in the Phalodi district of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the district and is situated within the buffer zone of the Thar Desert.
The city is frequently referred to as the "salt city" because of the salt industry located in Rin. Due to its arid climate, the region is often subject to extreme temperature conditions; notably, Phalodi recorded a temperature of 51°C, which is the highest ever verified temperature in India.
