Neemuch

India

Neemuch, also known as Nimach, is a city located in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh, India. It serves as the administrative headquarters for the Neemuch District and shares its northwestern border with the state of Rajasthan.

Historically, the town functioned as a large British cantonment of the Gwalior princely state. In 1822, it became the headquarters of the combined Rajputana–Malwa political agency, and later served as the headquarters of the Malwa Agency in 1895. The British Cantonment was eventually disbanded in 1932, after which the area was maintained by a British Municipal Board.
