Didwana is a city located in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It serves as the district headquarters for the Didwana-Kuchaman district, which was established as a separate administrative entity on August 4, 2023. Prior to this date, the area was administered as a subdistrict of Nagaur.
The city is situated on the northern side of the Didwana Salt Lake. It is historically noted in Puranic texts such as Abhanagri and Upakashi. Additionally, Didwana is recognized by the descriptive titles "the lion gateway" of Marwar and "the archway" of Merta.
