Bhinmal is an ancient town located in the Jalore District of Rajasthan, India. It is situated approximately 72 kilometres (45 miles) south of the city of Jalore.
Historically, Bhinmal served as the early capital of the Gurjara-Pratihara dynasty, a kingdom that encompassed modern-day northern Gujarat and southern Rajasthan. The town is also noted as the birthplace of two significant historical figures: the Sanskrit poet Magha and the mathematician and astronomer Brahmagupta.
